BINISSALEM
Binissalem: Landscape Design in Mallorca

This garden frames the Serra de Tramuntana as its true protagonist, blending color, movement, and open spaces to create a serene, contemplative Mediterranean landscape.

Spatial Organization
The design is structured around two main planting lines that preserve the memory of the former orange grove while maintaining unobstructed views from the residence.
- The Green Line (Lower Tier): Located closer to the house and contained by a low wall. It integrates existing Citrus sinensis and enhances the structure with:
- Cycas revoluta
- Strelitzia augusta
- Pittosporum tobira ‘Nana’
- Accents: Gaura lindheimeri, Lavandula dentata, and Rosa ‘KORbin’.
- The Pink Line (Upper Tier): Designed for high visual impact and movement, creating a natural prairie effect through:
- Muhlenbergia capillaris & Pink Gaura lindheimeri
- Nerium oleander & Albizia julibrissin
- Ornamental Grasses: Stipa tenuissima and Pennisetum alopecuroides.
Central Focus: The Rest Area
At the heart of the pink line, a dedicated rest area is enveloped by grasses and three Yucca elephantipes. This specific point is engineered where wind, light, and vegetation converge to elegantly frame the distant mountain range.
